Recently, Carol Cooper, Administrative Director at Sea Products Development on the campus of Global Blue Technologies-Cameron in Taft, TX spoke at Career Day at Gregory Portland Intermediate School. Her presentation to the language arts classes about her position with SPD focused on the interrogatory words: who, what, where, when, why, and how. The teachers appreciated Carol’s use of the terms they were learning about in their classes! Additionally, Ms. Cooper talked with the students about the types of careers that someone could have at the shrimp farm, ranging from a PhD in genetics to biochemistry to maintenance, office, drafting, and general labor.
Carol said, “The children were really excited to hear about the shrimp farm that is basically in their back yard.” She explained to the students that during Hurricane Harvey the shrimp died; they were saddened to hear this. Additionally, the students found it fascinating that Carol worked for an aquaculture company even though she is allergic to shellfish.
The photos posted here are of some of the thank you notes Ms. Cooper received from the students. Well done, Carol!
